Cinderella was our 2009 pantomime, from a script by Stuart Ardern and Bob Heather, which we found via Lazy Bee scripts.
It’s an interesting pantomime, with no real villain, two dames and the opportunity for two principal boys. This gives your society the chance to try out someone in these two key types of role who might not usually get the chance, and also gives the usual villain a rest.
There are a fair number of parts, but it’s not unmanageable, and it’s possible to roll a few together without too much difficulty (Prime Ministers and Other Ministers, Dandini and the Court Herald). The smaller parts are ideal for the younger members of the society, with a number of small speaking roles in the Chorus.
The stage directions are quite simple, with little required complexity in terms of staging, props or effects, but you can always embellish the required minimum to the level your society is capable of producing.
There are thirteen or fourteen songs scripted in the pantomime, some are required to cover scene changes, but most can be altered or removed if necessary.
